    Letting it All Go
Rushing in, rushing out – frantically
Find a space, wind it down – breathe in deep
Letting it all go, be free

Black is white, right is wrong - paradox
Search the sky, try to solve – everything
Time brings the answers, just let it all go, be free

As, the waves climb the shoreline
    Relinquish with the tide

Finding wrong, criticize – weighing down
Love’s a light, load to bear – this is how
Letting it all go, be free

Answers sit, on the shelf – old clichés
This is what you should know – break away
And let it all go, finding a way to be free
Watch, the birds, ride the thermals
    Stationary wings

Falling down, being hurt – left behind
Afraid to grow old alone – wasting time
Just let it all go, be free

Look beyond, leave behind – all the past
Live for what matters most – no regrets
Letting it all go, finding a way to be free

    Thunder vibrates through my window
    Fields soak in the rain

    Another Time
Rain pitter patter, wake from a dream
Trying to recall the scenes - rewind
    Recall the scenes

    Familiar places, unknown actors
Telling me they are my friends, for life
Strange as it seems, they comfort me

Is this a sign of the future?
    Snapshots of another time?
    Living in another time

    Stare at the ceiling, contemplating
Rain is now a drizzle, outside
    Quiet and gray

    Is this a crazy illusion?
    My life in another time?
    Visions of another time

    Piecing together, the story board
From act one to the curtain, the end
    What will it be?

Is this a movie with laughter?
    Is this a biography?
Nothing to lose by just hoping
    Living in another time

    Dreaming of another time

    Most Unlikely
Take me away from this place
Escape from here to new reality
    And then one winter morning
Although it’s cold, a warm air rushes in

    Floating down, parachutes so beautiful
Two strangers landing in the same small town
    Most Unlikely

    Collide like two meteors
The glow so bright, it takes my breath away
    Has this happened before?
Something unique, it’s all a mystery

Turn around, here I am the quiet one
Elusive hummingbird can you catch me?
    Most Unlikely
Come with me, we’ll ride the trains in Italy
We’ll buy a villa and live happily
    Most Unlikely

I blink and nothing’s the same
I soon will feel like running through the hills
    This path, unknown destination
But I don’t mind, as long as you’re with me

Venture out, take my hand climb to the top
Will take a leap across the Grand Canyon!
    Most Unlikely
    Floating down, parachutes so beautiful
Two strangers landing in the same small town
    Most Unlikely

    Root Beer Stand in Afghanistan
A dry rocky barren land in,
    Southern Afghanistan
Thinking how cool it would be,
    To host our so-called enemy

I'd load them in a VW van,
And drive them to a root beer stand
We'd laugh while eating chili dogs,
    Frosty mugs and then...

We'd drop our weapons in the sand,
And we'd build a root beer stand

I'd gather all the girls and boys,
    Escape from the chaotic noise
Thinking how cool it would be,
    To host all of humanity

We'd load them in a VW van,
And drive them to a root beer stand
    We'd laugh then we'd cry,
Raise our frosty mugs to the sky

Find common ground in simple things,
Tell jokes while eating onion rings
Dreaming how cool it would be,
    If everyone sang in harmony

    Drive around in VW vans,
Singing all the way to the root beer stand
    We'd laugh then we'd try,
Shed the past, reach for the sky
    We'd laugh then we'd cry,
Raise our frosty mugs to the sky

    A root beer stand....in Afghanistan

    Waiting for Summer
Once we saw colors, red and gold
Burning like fire on the hill
    Waiting for summer
Trees stand like bones and pray for sun
Once we heard music in the fields
    Echoing ancient melodies
    Waiting for summer
The silent snow is fast asleep

Iʼll find the shelter where you hide away, my love
Clear a path up to your door
Throw back the curtains ʻtill a million beams of light
    Refracting green and blue
Once we saw colors burning Like fire on the hill
Once we hear music playing Echoing through the hills
    Waiting for summer
The frozen stems will rise again

Good things that end will start again
Migrating Doves back to their home
And while the shadows climb the wall
I'd wait a thousand winters through
    Waiting for Summer
    Melting the glaciers into sea

    Waterfront Park
Dark coffee stains on his shirt
Want for not, at Waterfront Park
    Homeless yet he’s perfectly home

Sea urchin crawls across ocean floor
Down so deep, there’s no light at all

Riches to rags, is the story I’m told
Branches grow; gale force brings them down

    No hindsight, nothing to change
All is OK living in the park

    Not so dark

    Trail of the Wind
Time and time again, deviate the plan
Stepping off the beaten path, wondering where I’ll land

In the trail of the wind, new life will spring once more
Much wiser than before, no more vanity
    Find, new under the sun

Slow, and easy now, shift the paradigm
Love thy neighbor as yourself, release and refine

In the trail of the wind, new life will spring once more
Much wiser than before, no more vanity
    There’s, new under the sun

In the trail of the wind, new life will spring once more
Much wiser than before, no more vanity
    New under the sun

Sing a simple song, memorize the words
Share it on the Internet, help to spread the word

In the trail of the wind, new life will spring once more
Much wiser than before, no more vanity
    Find, new under the sun

In the trail of the wind, new life will spring once more
Much wiser than before, no more vanity
    New under the sun

    Little Did I Know
The man on the moon, looking down
    What does he see?
He looks through the haze, the ocean blue
    Melting the glaciers away
    Little did I know

It’s a fallacy, some will say
    Nothing is wrong
The flowers still grow, the sun still shines
    Sweeping it under the sand
    Little did I know

If only the sea could just talk, tell me the truth
I don’t feel so good, please rescue me
And all that swims inside me
    Little did I know

The human race, and its complacency
    One day we’ll all know

    The Caretaker
Fall turned to Spring, don’t remember a thing
Guess we never had a winter this year
Every time the sky turns to grey, yellow Daffodils light my way
    Just a moment they say

And every now and then you save me, from a dark and empty place
You bring me back to life
Like when you read his poetry, he said to me "you are such a good wife...
    Every single day"

Caretaker, caretaker bring me my pen
Let me write some poetry to this man
Every time my mind fades to blank, I'm on a strange riverbank
Just for a moment they say

Spring turns to Fall, don’t remember at all
Guess we never had a summer this year
Caretaker, caretaker fetch me my pen
Let me write some poetry to this man

Once upon a time years ago, he came in from the snow
I fell for him that I know
Every time my mind fades to blank, I’m on a strange river bank
     Just a moment they say
  • Story Lyrics Pete's Last Cigar (avail on CD only)
Pete was his nickname, a boy who loved ’ole popcorn Pete
School of hard knocks and then some, followed his dreams, boy from the farm

White shoes and Cadillacs, blue polyester pants
T-bones on the grill, playin’ his Gibson guitar

Bluegills off the pier, Phillip cigar perched in his jaw
Buck Owen’s red white and blue, Hee Haw and then Roy Acuff tunes

RVs to modulars, old Amish carpenters
One big family, coffee at the B & B

Drive, to Florida, sip yellow birds, down by the pool
Hoosiers in Sarasota, a farmer’s tan, goats in the sun

Wabash Cannon Ball, mouth harp and grand harmonica
Learning to play his guitar, listening to Grand ‘Ole Opry

Now and again I remember the sound of his voice - ”Hey there you boys”
    Seems like it was yesterday

March ’82 my mom called, she said ‘Ole Pete went home to God
    Resting with his last cigar
